Youth are back from CAMP!!

September 30, 2009

The Switch Middle Schoolers went to Elevation summer camp with Seacoast Church of Charleston. Located at the Awanita campgrounds in the South Carolina mountains, campers did team building exercises, rode the zipline, went ariborne on the highest waterslide EVER, and went crazy praising God until late into the night. The best part was not Jason Kovalik winning Pastor of the Year (congrats, man!), or winning the spirit stick and and breaking camp records, but watching the kids worship together and minister to each other. We already can’t wait to go back… only 10 months to go, guys…

Sunday Morning Volunteers make it happen

September 30, 2009

Every Sunday morning, volunteers make our mobile Mosaic a first class enterprise. Arriving as early as 7am and staying as late 2pm, volunteers set up, help park cars, care for and teach our children, greet, caffeinate, and clean up for the people who come to worship with us. We would be lost without the troops who sacrifice their time to make the service a reality. Thanks so much to all of you who make it possible!!

Set up crew, greeters and cafe workers working to pull it all together.

What If Everyone…

September 30, 2009

“What if Everyone” was a day for serving the community through multiple charitible organizations around Charlotte. The massive effort was a project Ashley Fazal came up with, as a way to help people at Mosaic become connected to the community through volunteering. Partnering with the Branch Church, The Venue, and Catalyst Church, nearly 200 people came out on a Saturday to assist 16 different groups in caring for people in need. Many of these projects are on-going, so for more information, contact Ashley at outreach@mosaicchurch.tv.

The crowd starts to gather early Saturday morning, drinking the coffee provided by Paventi's Pizzeria (thanks Dave!)

Mosaic Summer Baptisms

September 29, 2009

God in his goodness gave us the privilege of providing Baptism to 9 Mosaic Members this June. Baptism is an important part of any believer’s walk with the Lord, and symbolizes our participation in the death and resurrection of Christ. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17. If you are interested in being baptized, please email baptism@mosaicchurch.tv

Mosaic Volunteers can now hang out in the new lounge behind the cafe. Pator Naeem wanted the hardworking folks that make our mobile church possible to have a place to call their own. If you are a volunteer, you can expect continental breakfast every Sunday… except RALLY SUNDAYS, when there is a fantastic hot meal waiting for athe folks we appreciate the most… our amazing volunteers! To volunteer at Mosaic, check out our website at www.mosaicchurch.tv, or email smallteams@mosaicchurch.tv

Habitat for Humanity year in pictures

According to the hat, this is ERIC.

Mosaic has been involved with Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte for over a year, and Drew Farnie has been faithfully recording our efforts at all the builds. He even brings homemade cinnamon buns and coffee! Shucks, Drew, you’re awesome! A special thanks to Paventi’s Pizza for donating countless pizza lunches for the hungry builders (we love the buffalo chicken pizza, BTW!!). If you have the desire to get involved with our builds, or any of our local outreaches, email us at outreach@mosaicchurch.tv or call our office at 704-875-3660 ext. 26.

There’s no telling what Mosaic put in Samaritan’s Purse

May 21, 2009
We managed to get the regular employees involved in chanting taunts at other teams.

We managed to get the regular employees involved in chanting taunts at other teams.

The Operation Christmas Child program at Samaritan’s Purse employs volunteers to go through every gift box they send to countries around the world. The job is simple, but as the night wears on, some Mosaic-ites get a little squirrely. Since the goal is to have fun wherever we go, sometimes we have to dig deep to find opportunities to make volunteers laugh. Other times, we just bring Chase Richardson and let him loose. Oh, those poor Samaritans…

Some kid would get a box o' fun if we just sealed Chase into it before we mailed it off.

Mosaic Photo Booth

May 21, 2009

Mosaic put a photo booth in the foyer on Small Group launch week, and madcap mayhem ensued. Here are some of the highlights from what I can only describe as a mosaic! I love that we have people from all walks of life, different backgrounds and ethnicities.

Mosaic has gas. Want some?

May 21, 2009

Pastor Keith talkin' with his hands.

The weekend before Easter, Mosaic offered the Mallard Creek area a free gas giveaway. Stunned motorists kept asking why we would spend our morning pumping gas, and their response to our service blessed us more than anything we were giving them. One family whose father was out of work was nearly in tears receiving 15 gallons of free gas, because they would have had to go without other necessities in order to fill the tank. I am amazed at how God works to bless so many people with the smallest step of obedience. He orchestrated the right people to be there to receive encouragement and blessing at just the right time. What we thought was going to be a few hours of service before getting on with our weekend, turned out to be an exciting and energizing time that put all of us in a positive mood for the whole week. God is good!!

Young and Married vs. Young and Single (it’s not what you think)

May 20, 2009

The Connections singles group took on the Haller’s Young Married small group in a kickball game for bragging rights on April 26th. Currently, the mantle rests on the young marrieds, who claim to be up for a re-match any time to defend the title of best… ball kickers? Kickballers? Seriously, what should we put on the trophy? Maybe the plans for t-shirts should be scrapped as well… Check the Small Group listings online at www.mosaicchurch.tv for group times and meeting places.
